My church is having its annual rummage sale this week, and the amount of stuff we have is just mind blowing. It seems every year we get more and more things donated, and we have a harder time getting things organized, sorted and priced before the sale starts. There is all kinds of furniture, tools, lawn equipment, holiday decorations, clothes, bedding, kitchen items and dish sets. I helped pick up a ping pong table (very nice shape), two snow throwers, bikes, a gas fire pit, and a POS couch I should have just lit on fire. It all ends on Saturday, when everything is 1/2 off as well as $3 bags (where anything you can fit in a shopping bag is $3). 80% will be gone by then, and anything that is at least useful gets donated to local charities.

Seriously, there is a whole box full of toy cars. Matchbox, Hotwheels, several off brands and other types and sizes as well. Someone brought in a large shopping bag full of Lego. I just filled seven
1 gallon zip lock bags and priced them at $5 a piece. They’ll be gone by Wednesday morning. Too bad my son outgrew Skylanders, there’s a box full of them at $2 a piece, with Marvel/Star Wars Infinity figures as well.

Very cool. I went to high school with a few folks that attended OLPH in grade school. I might have my mother swing by and snatch up the LEGOs for me and my boys. What day does it kick off?

It starts tonight at 6pm, as a “preview night”. A $5 entry fee gets you in before the sale officially kicks off Wednesday at 9am through Saturday afternoon
. It’s the first time they have done the preview night, so I’m not sure if it will be really crowded. Usually, it’s a bit of a mad house the first day.
